![]() ![]() I eventually got a custom seat which is working for now, but if I get another Sportster it won't fit, I'll probably start there. I'm glad we might have helped you out there. This is the 5th saddle I tried and, finally, I have one I am happy with. It may not be the most comfortable seat out there but it does provide extra legroom and is a big step up in comfort over the stock seat. I have now put in a few 250 miles days with this seat and I am pleased. But once I got in broken in a little (200ish miles on it) the comfort level noticeably improved. I can now answer my own previously posted question about comfort.Īt first, I was worried I had made the wrong decision. This thread was so helpful in my purchase decision that I wanted to add my comments for anyone thinking about getting this seat. I got the Drag Specialties Extended Reach Predator Seat and have been using it for about 6 weeks. Looking forward to my next ride to see how it performs. The seat is about 6 oz lighter than the stock seat, has a much stiffer pan (I had to remove my backrest pad to mount the seat), the pan is covered with fabric to protect the bike, and it has an indentation for the ECM module. Seat length, front to highest point: 14.5" / 16" Seat length, front to lowest point: 11" / 14.5" The measurements are (standard seat / extended reach seat) with the seat level as in the pictures: I took some pictures and compared dimensions with the original Sportster seat: Put it on the bike (2007 XL1200 Custom) and it definitely raises the seat height and allows me to sit further back. Well, I ordered and received the Drag Specialties Extended Reach Predator Seat (Smooth 0804-0610) today. My bike came with buckhorn bars and I have them turned down quite a bit, into "tiller position" I guess.īut some just put a tall windshield on there and are perfectly happy. Another way to accomplish that lean is to have lower grips. A little forward lean can help a lot too, so I ride with my feet on the passenger pegs a lot when I'm just droning down the highway. ![]() ![]() A low seat can help too, so the tank and gauges can get you under the worst of it. A short shield to get the wind off of your chest a bit can help, but right now the best I have is my dual gauges (accessory HD tach added). Some like to get windshields but I generally hate those because the air coming off of them tends to be very noisy. It's a problem with many of the Triumph Bonnevilles and other "standard" bikes like the old "UJM's" that copied the CB750. There's a lot you can do to lose that feeling of being blown off the back of the bike at high speeds. I just wish Dragg would give a side-on view of the seat on the bike, so I don't have to guess where the rise at the back is, for instance. Also feels like I'm sliding off at higher speeds, hope it wears in eventually. I'm average height but with short legs, only a problem when wearing boots (work). I bought the le pera bare bones for my 04, it did the opposite (takes room away from rider). It sure looks like you are getting more room there. ![]()

![]() In this article, we shall talk about the functions of amniotic fluid, the possible causes of changes in its volume and tips you could use to increase it. At times, however, the quantity of amniotic fluid may not be as expected, which could lead to health issues for the little life growing inside you. The fluid is important for the safety and health of the foetus growing inside you. This is the amniotic sac, and its fluid is known as amniotic fluid. Your baby rests inside a fluid-filled sac in the uterus. What Complications Can High Amniotic Fluid Lead To?.What Are the Causes of High Amniotic Fluid?.What Are the Causes of Low Amniotic Fluid?.How Much Amniotic Fluid Is Needed for Normal Delivery?.It occurs in 4% of pregnant women, but the chances of miscarriage can be reduced if it is detected early. In case you realize that you are not gaining weight at the expected rate, it might be a symptom of Oligohydramnios. This process relieves the cord from pressure.Īlthough doctors can safely get the child out of the womb during these complications, it may result in cesarian delivery. The umbilical cord comes under pressure when the fluid quantity drops. This replenishes the volume of fluid in the womb and creates a favourable environment for the child to survive. However, the chances of stillbirth can be greatly minimized in case the amount amniotic fluid decreases in the sac.Ī commonly adopted measure to treat this condition is to inject saline into the amniotic sac. This often results in premature birth, between 32 to 37 weeks of pregnancy. In these cases, it is wise to get the baby out of the womb at the earliest. ![]() It may not force its way out with a gush, but certainly, it leaks out of the sac. In case a tear develops in the sac, the fluid starts coming out slowly. As the volume of fluid keeps on decreasing, the living conditions become unfavourable for the baby. Besides, the doctors recommend early delivery to prevent miscarriage. In case of low volumes of amniotic fluid, the woman has to take substantial amounts of fluid throughout the day. Preterm birth is often caused due to low levels of amniotic fluid in the womb. However, the possibilities cannot be completely ruled out here too. However, chances are less if it is detected in the third trimester. ![]() In case it is detected in the second trimester, the chances of premature delivery increases. Often, oligohydramnios results in preterm birth of the child. It may also result in complications like Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR). In case the child does not get the suitable conditions, it may lead to miscarriage. Besides, it also helps in the development of certain systems in the baby, like the digestive system. It provides it with the right environment to survive. The amniotic fluid preserves the baby in the womb. In case these movements become restricted, it may result in various complications and birth defects. The amniotic fluid is responsible for allowing the baby to make certain movements. Oligohydramnios results in compression of the foetal organs. Risks associated with low levels of amniotic fluid: Birth defects ![]() Oligohydramnios is caused due to a variety of factors, like high pressure level, problems with the placenta, birth defects, in case the water is broken, diabetes and other reasons. When the fluid index goes below 5 cm, it may result in complications. In case the vertical pocket goes below 2 cm, it may also result in low levels of amniotic fluid. When the volume of fluid comes below 500 ml, it may cause oligohydramnios. It is known as oligohydramnios and results in various complications. At times, the amount of amniotic fluid in the womb suffers a dip. Initially, it is made up of water from that body of the mother, but later foetal urine forms the fluid. Besides, it maintains a stable temperature in the womb. It allows it to make the necessary movements, protects the baby by forming a cushion against injuries and ensures that the umbilical cord does not become compressed.
